Jacob having 2 wives, Rachel and Leah; he gets angry with what Rachel complains of "if she never gets children that she would die". For this Jacob replies saying "Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having Children?"
Even though those words came out in Anger; that was a very wise statement. All things happen according to the WILL of God. Therefor we should not complain about anything. We have to surrender our lives into God's hands and eventually good things would start happening.
Rachel tries to use superstitious methods by trying to eat a certain plant by the name Mandrakes which those days there was a belief, that when consumed it induces pregnancy. It never worked out for her.
A lesson that we should take is that, when we do things against the WILL of God things would never happen. It only delays the Good that God is waiting to give us.
Fathering law of Jacob, Laban proclaims to Jacob that he himself is blessed because God had blessed Jacob and because Jacob is staying with him.
This is very true, that when God bless somebody the blessings overflow into people that surrounds you.
