Genesis 32

As Jacob is on his way to meet Esau, he becomes frightened thinking, he being a Shepherd how to fight his brother having a 400 men army. He prays to God, reminding God of the Promise God made that he would prosper and his generation would grow like the sand of the earth, if he moves to his brother.

Then God comes to fight with Jacob in the form of a man and they start wrestling. The whole night they wrestle and Jacob is not giving up till that man blesses Jacob. So the man touches the socket of Jacob's Hip, blesses him and leaves.

This story teach us a great lesson, of how to pray.

When we pray to God, it would be heard by God, but if the prayer request is of very important to us, then we should wrestle with god till that request is granted or till a message is sent to us about that request.

Wrestling with god would be continues Fasting and Prayer.

God gave a new name to Jacob calling him Israel, meaning that he struggled with God.

Genesis 31

Jacob was getting lots of signs that he should move out of his fatherinlaw Laban's house and move to where his Brother is.

Sometimes we wonder how do we identify when God speaks. If it is God speaking, to us he would use many ways and forms to show us what to do. So that we would know that it's God's speaking.

When Jacob was running away, his fatherinlaw goes behind to catch him. God in a dream, tells Laban to not to harm Jacob.

By this we should know that, when we live a life pleasing to God, he takes care of everything, even protecting us from our enemies.

Genesis 30

Jacob having 2 wives, Rachel and Leah; he gets angry with what Rachel complains of "if she never gets children that she would die". For this Jacob replies saying "Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having Children?"

Even though those words came out in Anger; that was a very wise statement. All things happen according to the WILL of God. Therefor we should not complain about anything. We have to surrender our lives into God's hands and eventually good things would start happening.

Rachel tries to use superstitious methods by trying to eat a certain plant by the name Mandrakes which those days there was a belief, that when consumed it induces pregnancy. It never worked out for her.

A lesson that we should take is that, when we do things against the WILL of God things would never happen. It only delays the Good that God is waiting to give us.

Fathering law of Jacob, Laban proclaims to Jacob that he himself is blessed because God had blessed Jacob and because Jacob is staying with him.

This is very true, that when God bless somebody the blessings overflow into people that surrounds you.
